On The Street, 23rd August 2014

Today Manchester was extra busy with many more visitors crowding the streets because of the annual Manchester Pride parade, the annual Jehovah’s Witness Conference and yet another anti-Israel demonstration.

The team simply preached as usual, undeterred by the possibility of threats and intimidation from people who may have taken offence at the message of the Gospel.
As has been the case for the past few weeks there was a strong police presence in the city centre because of the Anti-Israel protesters who had, in the past, disrupted local businesses and caused the local shoppers a certain amount of distress.

Both John and Miguel preached at length concerning the coming judgement of the world when Christ returns and the need to be ready.  John spoke of how Christ will divide everyone into two groups as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats.  The sheep will be received into the sheepfold however the goats will be cast away.  So it will be important to believe God and His Son before that day arrives.

Both John and Miguel spoke of the futility of religion in making anyone acceptable in God’s eyes, how that atonement must be made for sin and how that redemption must be paid for through the shedding of blood (Christ’s blood).

Many people stopped to listen and many more accepted the leaflets.

Stay strong in spreading the Gospel. Only through Christ shed can we have any hope.
